About the project

Taking a step towards comic accuracy for The Flash was exhilarating. Working with Kate Main, the directive was to bring as much comic accuracy into the costume as possible, while keeping it modern and in the shows aesthetic. This involved several surface texture designs; laser etching with metallic underlays, silk screened lightning bolts, ceramic coated textures for stunts, latex inlays and way less leather. Tasked with redefining the suit also meant designing elements for the gloves, boots, belt and the new emblem.
